Every year, enormous consumption of colas or soft drinks (both carbonated and non-carbonated) is becoming one of the major contributors to worldwide’ calorie intake. Which leads to significant weight gain in many people and making them overweight and obese.

And it ain't the secret that being overweight and obese increase the risks for coronary heart disease, higher blood pressure (hypertension), type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis and some cancers.

This may sound very far-fetched to many readers but it ain’t a stretch of the truth. However, a lot of people are not even aware that these high-sugar colas and soft drinks have eventually become a serious addiction, no wonder most of them find it hard to quit.

Further, Graham cited a recent Harvard Medical School study on women who drink two or more servings of artificially sweetened cola daily are likely to have twice the risk of kidney function decline than those who drink lesser or no soft drinks, the harmful decline may further destroy that organ.

Now something for all you guys out there; Researchers from the Copenhagen University, Denmark after conducting the study (on 2500 young men, from 2001 to 2005) proposed that men consuming a liter cold drink daily may experience a 30 per cent lower sperm rate than those who avoid colas all the way.

"Hong Kong dieters warned against swallowing live worms."

The nutty belief behind eating live worms is, when develop in the intestine these parasites help people to eat their ingested food and calories, which ultimately resulted into weight loss.

According to spokesmen from the Hong Kong Department of Health, Ascaris parasites can cause abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and malnutrition. They can also cause more serious problems like biliary and pancreatic duct obstruction and lung invasion, all of which can eventually lead to death.

Not only this parasite is limited to worm-eating weight loss enthusiasts but also affect people who never tried the lousy treat. People can get these parasites by traveling the infected places and eating raw or uncooked food or by drinking water infected by the parasitic worms. So, if you love traveling you better be prepare in advance.
